Find your own song meaning: new video for “In The Name of Honor”

I love the universality of certain songs. I’ve touched on that previously whereby artists sometimes don’t like to explain the meaning of their songs and, instead, leave them open to the listener’s interpretations.

I love videos that tell a story that is somewhat different to the original meaning of their respective songs and, yet, they somehow fit the lyrics and, in the end, make sense in a way. Metallica’s video of their cover of Bob Seger’s “Turn the page” comes to mind.

I can’t speak for other artists on whether they discuss the concept of their songs with their video creators or they just leave it to their interpretation and creativity, but for this particular video, I just told the creator that the song is about corruption and deceit and he created this cool anime video of the manga series Vinland Saga about betrayal and honor.

I didn’t mention anything about the background of the song and the politics and corrupt politicians in my home country.

Two different interpretations of the same song, so cool! Let me know if you interpret the song or video in your own way.
